We Give Our Freedom Away

Jude 3 reads “Beloved, whenI gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needfulfor me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend forthe faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

I recently enjoyed watchinga movie at home with my family about a man who was a travelling Evangelist inthe Smoky Mountains in the later part of the nineteenth century. It was veryenlightening to see so many simularities with the modern day minister. One thatstruck me very hard was a statement that he made to a young man that in lateryears we, as Christians, would be giving away our freedoms in this country. Howtrue this statement is today.

We have leaders in ourgovernment today that are pro-abortion, pro-homosexuality, anti-family andyes anti-Christ. We can try and put the blame on many excuses but the blame isplaced upon the lack of those who say they are Christians and do not contendfor the faith. The true church serves an Omnipotent God who has NO equal. That’sright Satan is NOT equal with God. He is not as powerful as our God and King.He was created by God and he is limited in what he can do. He cannot doanything without the explicit permission from God Himself.

Yes we are much of thereason for this downfall in morality in our nation and the world. There aremany who passionately contend for the faith and sadly many more who do not, wehave forgotten our first love who is Jesus and we are like the man who looksinto God’s word turns away and forgets what it says. We have become like a manwho looks into the mirror and forgets what he looks like. Now that isridiculous but that is what we, Christians have become. Can we make a positivechange in this nation again? Yes! If we turn back to our first love, learn tocontend for the faith, and stand for the righteousness of Christ then we willbegin to see a change in our lives, the church and this nation.

Please stop giving away thefreedoms our forefathers gave their lives for us to have and “Contend for thefaith” once again.
